Volume of SMS
The short text message service is a service providing an opportunity to send and receive text messages in a volume of 160 symbols (Latin alphabet).
If the sent SMS volume exceeds the ordinary size, it is sent to the destination address in a form of several SMS’s. Further this SMS can be joined in a form of one SMS or can be saved in a memory of mobile phone as several SMS messages depending on the model of the phone.
Delivery of the SMS
The SMS sent by you will be delivered to the recipient regardless which GSM number the owner of destination address is using. Even if the recipient is out of network coverage temporarily, the SMS will be delivered to him/her as soon as it is connected back to the network. The SMS messages to be sent are stored in server within 10 days since the date of its delivery*. SMS shall be delivered to the mobile phone regardless whether the mobile phone is busy or in waiting status.
The number of person sending SMS is shown at any cases. Regardless the fact whether CLIR or SOCLIR service is activated on your mobile phone or not, a person receiving the sent SMS will read your telephone number.
Special symbols
If the Cyrillic alphabet is provided in mobile phone you can type the SMS with this alphabet. The volume of the SMS is limited to 70 symbols in that case.
Delivery report
In order to make sure that the SMS messages sent by you are delivered to the destination addresses you can activate the report function on delivery of SMS to destination in SMS settings menu of your mobile phone. The view of SMS settings menu can be different depending on the model of mobile phone. Please see the information book of the mobile phone for additional information.
* The SMS messages that have delivery period of more than 10 days will be deleted.
